Since the weather is still pretty unstable, we are going to meet in the Cafe heaven around six on 14th of april.

Re Zazálea's comment: The club was started when through Ravelry an american girl visiting Hungary asked me and Kriszta if we want to get toogether and knit some public place, let's say in a cafe. She left after three weeks, but we stayed and kept on meeting and knitting together. People are coming and going, some were only passing through the city and joined us for one night, some were exchange student staying for a year, but we were happy they joined us.
The club doesn't have a strick structure, but since along with Kriszta I am one of the "founders" and I am one of the most active members Dinara appointed me as "the organizer"... Taking my cue (and getting tired of having to call around about the meeting place) I've put the blog up, where everyone can see when and where we meet next time. Telling the truth there were times when it looked there will be no members, and times when I just wanted to give up and knit at home... It changed when we were sitting in one wednesday night and someone with a wide smile walked up to us asking if we are the knitting club, because she is reading the blog and could she knit with us... That seemed the turning pointThere are no rules for new members. We call it "Craft Club" and not knitting club for a reason. Of course we mostly knit, but whatever craft one does (mainly knitting, crocheting, beads, embroidery, spinning), if she (or he for that matter) willing to sit with us in a cafe and do it, anyone is welcome! Actually every new member is cause for celebration. the more the merrier.
So please feel free and come and join us!!! Most of us speaks English as well as Hungarian, so everyone can have a conversation, but if you just want to sit and knit that is fine too.

A klub igazából „véletlenül” kezdődött, amikor a Ravelry-n keresztül egy éppen Budapestre készülő amerikai leányzó megkeresett és azt kérdezte lenne-e kedvem együtt kötni vele, akár valami nyilvános helyen, mondjuk egy kávézóban. Az adott találkozón Kriszta csatlakozott hozzánk. . Amanda három hét után elment, de mi továbbra is összejártunk és kötögettünk. Jópáran jöttek-mentek, voltak akik átutazóban ültek le velünk egy estére, volt aki csere-diákként egy évig is velünk volt, de mindenkit szeretünk..
A klubnak nincs szigorú szervezete, de mivel Krisztával az alapító tagok közé tartozom, és talán én járok a leggyakrabban, Dinara egyszre kijelölt „szrevezőnek”. Vettem a lapot és összeraktam ezt a blogot (legalább nem kellett hetente mindenkit végogtelefonálnom hol és mikor találkozunk). Persze, az igazat megvallva voltak olyan idők amikor úgy látszott érdeklődés hiányában nem lesz klub (azért valahogy legalább egy-két tag mindig megjelent), sokszor gondoltam arra, feadom, bezárom a bazárt és maradok otthon kötni. Aztán egyszer, ahogy ott ültünk egy sötéthajú hölgy széles mosollyal odajött hozzánk azt kérdezve : Ti vagytok a kötős klub? Rendszeresen olvassa a blogot, és most itt van néhány napra, csatlakozhatna-e? Ez így utólag olyan fordulópontnak tűnt.
Nincsenek szabályok. Új tagokra sem.Nem véletlen, hogy „Craft club”-nak (kézműves klub) hívjuk, nem Kötős klubnak. Persze leginkább kötünk, de akármit csinálsz (kötés, horgolás, gyöngyök, hímzés, fonás... csak amik így hirtelen eszembe jutnak), és hajlandó vagy egy nyilvános helyen (többnyire kávézókban) , társaságban tenni ezt, boldogan várunk. Minél több annál jobb!
Ne tévesszen meg a főleg angolul írt blog. Eleinte többet beszéltünk angolul, mint magyarul, de ma ez már nem így van. Akárangolul akár magayrul lehet beszélgetni, de ha valaki csak leül és köt (vagy mást) annak is örülünk.

I hope this is not too late, but since Viki and Emese are coming there WILL be a meeting in the Coffe Heaven , but a little bit later after six...

If you are up to coming please leave a message, or comment... I know Dori, Andi and Regula can't make it, and if noone else would come I would cancel it...

march 10th

The usual cafe heaven at six... or so.
I might not be able to come as I am sick again, but I will do my best...

It is march, it is spring...

Hurray... for the moment it seems even the weather cooperates :-)
Still it is not warm enough for sitting outside, so we will meet again on march 3d. 17.45 in the Cafe heaven on the Terez krt.
